I met Jack several years ago, since he is my hubby’s coworker.  When Jeff told me that Jack wanted to speak with me about capturing he and Mieka’s special day, I was THRILLED!!!!  9 out of 10 times, the bride is the one that chooses me as the photographer, so I was a little hesitant that Mieka wouldn’t share Jack’s opinion.  Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong!  Mieka and I hit it off right away.  She’s such a sweetie, it’s no wonder that Jack swooped her up!

Based on the personality of these two and the locations chosen, I knew the wedding would be romantic with an urban, hip flow!  And it most certainly was ….. City Hall is gorgeous and when you pair it with a couple that rocks tatt’s and white shell toes you can’t help but feel the vibe.  Add to it, a small hosted reception at one of my favorite steak houses, it was definitely an amazing day!

It was such a privilege to be welcomed back by the Blume family to shoot their eldest daughter’s wedding. It seemed like just yesterday we were there to photograph Lexie and Jonathan’s wedding and now here we were again capturing Brittany and Neil’s special day.

And what a day it was…..I always hold my breath when I book a wedding to be captured in THE DEAD OF WINTER. Every bride wants to get married on a picturesque day but one of the first things I learned about wedding photography is YOU CAN’T CONTROL THE UNCONTROLLABLE – the weather! We’ve been rained out in middle of summer, so I’ve learned to pray for the best weather and prepare for the worst. As luck would have it, not only did we have clear skies but we had BEAUTIFUL, WARM, spring-like temperatures on February 23rd? GO FIGURE!

Brittany picked the most amazing park to compliment the gorgeous weather we were blessed with. It’s like she had some special weather promise-guide that confirmed that we would have amazing lighting and suitable weather for a ladies in strapless gowns. Either way, we were happy campers! We got some breathtaking images that I’m sure the newlywed couple will cherish for years to come.
